Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort is now offering fans the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to stay in the tour bus that Dolly Parton once used on the road.

According to the press release, Parton used this tour bus from 2008 to 2022, marking 13 years of traveling across the country. In that stretch of time, she did the most traveling on her 2016 Pure & Simple tour, where she visited more than 60 cities in North America.

As well as touring and relaxing while on the road, Parton wrote albums such as Backwoods Barbie and 9 to 5 the Musical on the tour bus, as well as books, television shows and movies.

Designed by Parton and her sisters, the highly personalised motorcoach features a kitchen, dining table, two bathrooms and a large bedroom. The 45-foot bus has been customised with a wig cabinet, electric doors, make up vanity, full size fridge, guitar, hot tub, and hand-painted murals adorning the hot pink walls. She also tore out three of the six bunk beds to build a closet, which displays Parton's attire, including Christian Louboutins, shiny gowns and jewellery.

Often referring to it as her “Gypsy Wagon,” Parton once said this bus was her favourite home.

Parton said, “I have homes all over the United States, but my favourite place is the bus because that way I can just feel those wheels rolling; I’m a true gypsy at heart.”

According to Parton, the silver Prevost bus wasn’t getting much use these days. "(I) decided to retire it because I wasn’t touring that much anymore and it just was sitting there," Parton told the Knox News, part of the USA TODAY Network. "And I thought this could be put to really good use."

The Suite 1986 Tour Bus Experience is a two-night minimum and starts at $10,000 USD, with a portion of the profits from every stay donated to The Dollywood Foundation – which grant scholarships and awards and provides support to numerous non-profit organizations that aim to improve the quality of life of children and others in need – as well as Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – which distributes free books to children monthly, up until the age of 5.
