Five musical queens of the 1980s (and beyond) have come together in a song called Gonna Be You, written by Diane Warren for the upcoming film, 80 For Brady. Dolly Parton, Debbie Harry, Belinda Carlisle, Cyndi Lauper and Gloria Estefan have been chosen for the movie's theme song.
"When I wrote Gonna Be You for 80 For Brady, I wanted to write a song that celebrated these women’s deep friendship," Warren said in a press release. "Since 80 was in the title I got a crazy idea, why not get some of the most iconic singers from the 80s, who are still amazing and always will be, to all sing it?!!!!"
Belinda Carlisle shared her excitement about the collaboration on Instagram, writing, "What an honor to sing with @dollyparton @cyndilauper @gloriaestefan and DEBBIE HARRY! This secret has been hard to keep."
80 For Brady will be released on 2 February in Australia. The Kyle Marvin-directed film is about the true story of four best friends who go on a road trip to follow Tom Brady and the New England Patriots compete in Super Bowl LI. Tom Brady will also appear in the movie.
80 For Brady stars Academy Award nominee Lily Tomlin and Academy Award Winners Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno and Sally Field.

Kicking off the talk show, host Kelly Clarkson asked the country star if it was true that she wrote a secret song that nobody else has ever heard, that lives in a time capsule.
Parton replied: "Yes, and that has drove me crazy!”
Explaining further, she said, "I have written a song that nobody’s going to hear ’til I’m 99 years old and I might be there, I might not be, but it’s when we did Dollywood, we reworked that, and we put it in a time capsule to be, you know, to be opened.
"You have no idea how much that has bothered me! I wanna go dig up that song cause it's a really good song!"
Parton recently shocked fans again when she announced that she had joined the video sharing platform TikTok.
