Dolly Parton is bringing Rockstar to her most devoted fans a day early, with her new album playing in advance cinema screenings globally on Wednesday, 15 November, at 7 pm local time – select theatres will play the screening again the following day. That includes Australia.
Not only will the screenings include a sneak peek of songs from Rockstar, but they’ll also feature behind-the-scenes footage, music videos, performances, and an exclusive interview with Dolly herself.
In addition to the cinema screenings, Parton is donating a portion of sales to the non-profit children’s music charity, Music Will.
“I am excited to know that my fans around the world will be able to come together and be the first to hear a sneak peek of my Rockstar album,” Parton commented in a press release. “I am so proud of this music, and I am humbled by all the wonderful artists who joined me. I cannot wait for people to hear it!”

The Rockstar event, brought to cinemas in partnership with Trafalgar Releasing, will surely inspire fans of rock and country music as Parton embarked on this project following her induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

On Friday (20 October), Parton shared the latest single from her Rockstar album, a new rendition of Wrecking Ball alongside Miley Cyrus.
The single follows her version of What’s Up? with 4 Non-Blondes’ Linda Perry, The Beatles’ Let It Be with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Queen’s We Are The Champions, World On Fire, Bygones (starring Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Mötley Crüe bassist Nikki Sixx and guitarist John 5), and a cover of Heart’s Magic Man, featuring guest vocalist Ann Wilson.
Rockstar will be released on Friday, 17 November, via the singer’s independent Butterfly Records.
