Multi-platinum singer-songwriter, Dierks Bentley has surprised fans with a new EP release, Live From Telluride. The new EP was captured during his performance at the 48th Telluride Bluegrass Festival last month, where he was joined by The War and Treaty, Larkin Poe, and Sam Bush.
He said, "This really was a once in a lifetime show for me. Getting to play at my favourite festival ... with some of my favourite musicians and performers ... in one of my favourite places in the world ... felt like a dream. Luckily, this dream was captured on tape and I can go back and relive the way it felt that night whenever I want.”
Bentley first announced the new EP on social media, where he captioned, "I had the time of my life jamming with some of the best musicians in the world at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. It was so special that we wanted to release a few tracks! Thank you to my friends @thewarandtreaty, @larkinpoe, and @sambushband for joining. A career high for me … listen to #LiveFromTelluride now."
Bentley, multi-instrumentalist sisters Larkin Poe and husband-and-wife duo The War and Treaty all performed together during the 2021 ACM Awards in April. That night, they covered U2's Pride (in the Name of Love), which they reprise with Bush on Bentley's new EP. Also, on the EP, Bentley covers Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. The War and Treaty join him on Bad Angel, a song from his 2010 album Up on the Ridge, originally performed with Miranda Lambert and Jamey Johnson, and Woman, Amen, a single from 2018's The Mountain, while Larkin Poe are featured on Travelin' Light, a Brandi Carlile collaboration also from The Mountain.

Bentley first formally shared his love of bluegrass with the release of the critically acclaimed fifth studio album, Up on the Ridge. Unlike his previous albums, the album was bluegrass-influenced mixed with country and Americana, and earned award nominations at the CMAs, GRAMMYs and ACMs.
However, his most recent album, The Mountain earned him the highest debut sales of his career and became his seventh chart-topping release. The album also mixed the bluegrass influence of Up on the Ridge with the rock music influence on his previous release, 2016’s Black. His latest single, Gone peaked at #7 on the Countrytown Music Network Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart, and currently sits at #23.
