Countrytown in partnership with KIX Country is proud to announce U.S. singer-songwriter Randy Houser as this week’s ‘Centre Stage’ artist. Every week we'll be shining a light on a single artist across all platforms including online features, airplay, and social support.

The son of a professional musician, Houser took to music as a young age. He picked up the guitar at 10 and played in bands throughout his school years. While at college, he fronted a band called 10lb. Biscuit but left them behind in 2002 to pursue his dreams in Nashville.

He landed a publishing deal shortly after, writing such hits as Trace Adkins Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, Back That Thing Up by Justin Moore and My Cowboy by Jessie James

Houser released his first single, Anything Goes, in 2008, as well as his debut album of the same name. He received two nominations for the 2009 CMA Awards, including ‘New Artist of the Year’ and ‘Music Video of the Year’ for his second single titled Boots On. They Call Me Cadillac, his second album, followed in 2010 and an ACM nomination for ‘Top New Solo Vocalist’ in 2011.

In 2012, he released How Country Feels, which became his first number one on the Country Airplay chart. The album of the same name was released the following year along with singles Runnin’ Outta Moonlight, Goodnight Kiss and Like A Cowboy, with all three peaking in the top five. How Country Feels was nominated for ‘Breakthrough Video of the Year’ and Runnin’ Outta Moonlight for ‘Male Video of the Year’ at the CMT Music Awards in 2013 and 2014, respectively, and Like A Cowboy was nominated for ‘Song of the Year’ at the 2015 CMA Awards.

After touring with Luke Bryan in 2015, Houser released his fourth studio album, Fired Up the following year. In 2019, he dropped his fifth studio album, Magnolia, which includes collaborations with Lucie Silvas on the track Our Hearts and Hillary Lindsay on the lead single What Whiskey Does. The album peaked at #53 on the ARIA Australian Albums chart.

Houser dropped his sixth studio album, Note To Self, on November 11. The project includes 10 tracks, all co-written by Houser and co-produced by Houser with Blake Chancey.

Along with new music, a tour and the expansion of his family, Houser will appear in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming film Killers of the Flower Moon starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro and more, as well as the biographical drama The Hill starring Dennis Quaid
