Australian fans who watch Chase Matthew’s new music video will notice something immediately: it features clips from his recent shows on our shores.

His latest music video, Started from the Holler, is packed with snippets from his recent run of Australian dates in April this year.

It includes footage of him rehearsing with Australian country star James Johnston, as well as clips from shows at venues such as Brisbane’s The Triffid, Melbourne’s Prince Bandroom and Sydney’s Factory Theatre.

The video also captured Matthew’s appearances at Meatstock Festival, including a shoey on stage and performances to crowds of tens of thousands, with pyrotechnics adding an engaging element of showmanship.

Sharing a snippet of the video on social media, Matthew captioned the post: “If y’all ever wondered what it’s like in Australia, go watch my new music video OUT NOW! Aussie Aussie Aussie OY OY OY!”

Released earlier this month, Started from the Holler is Matthew’s latest single. Today’s Country Magazine praised the song’s themes of “determination, loyalty, and small-town values” as well as Matthew’s “spirited blend of country storytelling, pop-country melodies, and Southern rock intensity.”

Matthew continues to release a steady stream of singles, including Holdin’ It Down and Autopilot, released earlier this year, following his 2025 album Chase and 2024 EP Always Be Mine.

Back in April, Matthew and James Johnston premiered their collaborative single, SMOKE I’VE KNOWN, at the Toowoomba edition of Meatstock.

Matthew said of the track, “SMOKE I’VE KNOWN was one of those songs that was magic from the start. James and I hit it off on social media and told our publishers to get us together.

“Australia is one of my favourite places in the world, and we immediately knew we wanted to write a song that represents country music worldwide. James being an Australian native in the country genre made this collaboration so authentically us, and I’ll speak for James when I say – this is the SMOKE I’VE KNOWN, I can’t wait for everyone to check it out.”
