Casey Barnes’ ‘Get To Know Ya’ Becomes New ‘Farmer Wants A Wife’ Promo Song

Casey Barnes’ Get To Know Ya, which is about having an immediate spark with someone, has been selected as the promo theme for the upcoming series of Farmer wants A Wife.

Barnes shared on social media, “Little bit of exciting news to share… Chuffed that Channel 7 have chosen Get To Know Ya for the promo of the latest series of Farmer Wants A Wife! Pretty amazing feeling having this pop up on TV while having dinner tonight.”

Released in January, the song peaked at #1 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart.

Barnes said of Get To Know Ya, "This song is all about meeting someone for the first time, that spark you have and wanting to know more about them. We've all had our fair share of lockdowns and isolation over the last two years and we're finally enjoying the luxury of being able to get out and about again and reconnect. That's what this single is all about... that instant connection when you lay eyes on someone for the first time. The nervous feeling about getting to know them and hoping they feel the same way because in your eyes, they're that one in a million. This single is one of my favourite songs on the album and I'm so excited to finally get it out there!"

As well as his hit singles, Come Turn Me On, Kiss Me Like You Mean It and God Took His Time On You, Get To Know Ya is from his latest album, Light It Up. The album reached #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album Chart and was produced by MSquared (Michael Delozrenzis and Michael Paynter), Light It Up featured ten original songs, all co-written by Barnes with MSquared and Nashville based singer-songwriters Kaci Brown and Sam Gray. 

Earlier this year, Barnes’ Light It Up was chosen as the promo song for the AFL 2022 season.
