Casey Barnes Announces ‘Made For This’ Album and National Tour

The award-winning country star is gearing up for a huge second half of 2026 with a new album, a Pete Murray collaboration, and an 11-date tour across Australia.

Australian country music favourite Casey Barnes is officially entering his next era, announcing both his eighth studio album Made For This and a massive national tour set to roll through Australia from August to November.

Fresh off the back of several chart-topping releases and a growing reputation as one of the country’s most electric live performers, Barnes will hit venues across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania for the Made For This Tour. The run will showcase tracks from the upcoming album alongside the fan favourites that have helped cement his place in modern Australian country music.

The new album, Made For This, drops on August 7 and is already shaping up to be one of Barnes’ biggest releases yet. Built around themes of resilience, determination and self-belief, the record blends his signature stadium sized country rock energy with some of his most personal songwriting to date.

Produced largely by acclaimed production duo MSquared - Michael DeLorenzis and Michael Paynter - the album also features contributions from producers Andy Skib and Mitch Thompson. Fans will already recognise singles including ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES, BUY THAT GIRL A BEER, and MADE FOR THIS, which also became the theme for the NRL on Nine coverage.

One of the standout moments on the album is TIME TO BURN, Barnes’ first ever collaboration with iconic Australian singer songwriter - and long term mate - Pete Murray. The track delivers a reflective anthem about slowing down and appreciating life’s important moments.

These songs capture every side of who I am as an artist… from the big anthemic moments through to the most personal and vulnerable songwriting I’ve ever shared. More than anything, I want this album to make people feel something, whether it’s hope, strength, nostalgia or the motivation to keep pushing forward. I’m incredibly proud of these songs and can’t wait for everyone to hear them.”

The collaboration with Murray has been years in the making, according to Barnes, who said the pair have known each other for more than two decades before finally recording together.

"Pete and I have known each other for over 20 years, and we've always talked about working together. 'TIME TO BURN' came from an honest conversation about how fast life moves and how easy it is to get caught up chasing everything while the moments that matter slip by.”

There will be a limited number of VIP tickets for all headline shows too which include a pre-show meet & greet, a copy of the new record and a signed poster. Tickets going on sale May 27.
