Brad Cox is planning to road test some new music on an upcoming solo run, today announcing a string of pop-up shows.
The tour will take place in Queensland and New South Wales, with Cox performing solo at Solbar on the Sunshine Coast on Thursday, 15 May, the Dag Pub in D’Aguilar on Friday, 16 May, the Wallaby Hotel in Mudgeeraba on Saturday, 17 May, and at the Eltham Hotel on Sunday, 18 May.
Cox wrote on social media, “Road testing a few new ones, plus playing a bunch of your favourites on this pop-up solo run. See ya out there.”
The tour poster also indicates that new songs are from his forthcoming album, while the classics will also be represented.
Fans who have signed up for the Drinking Pioneers mailing list already have pre-sale information in their inboxes, while the general sale begins on Thursday, 24 April, at 10 am local time via Brad Cox’s website.
Cox is playing in Australia just weeks before embarking on his second tour of New Zealand in June. With his inimitable voice, raw storytelling, and arena-sized energy, fans won’t want to miss out on his solo shows.

Last month, Cox released the anthemic new single, I’m A Boxer, and signed with two international booking agencies: Ground Control Touring in North America, and ATC Live in the UK and Europe.
New music from Cox comes after the release of last year’s single Everything I’ve Got, which marked his debut release with new label Warner Music Australia.
