Port Macquarie country artist Blake O’Connor is coming home. This October, the Soul Feeling singer will embark on a short Australian tour to celebrate his birthday.
Having just returned from US tour dates with Colin Stough and enjoyed earlier US shows, including Tim Foust’s 7th annual Birthday Bash in Nashville, a songwriter’s retreat in Panama, and a Sounds Australia concert starring Morgan Evans, Zac & George and Sinead Burgess, it’s fair to say that 2023 has been an enormous year for O’Connor.
“AUSTRALIA… I’M COMING HOME,” O’Connor wrote on social media on Tuesday (15 August). “I thought I’d put a few shows together for when I come home for a quick visit in OCT for my Birthday!” Tickets are on sale now, but as O’Connor said yesterday (16 August), you’ll need to grab tickets quickly as they’re selling fast.
The local lad will hit Lizotte’s in Newcastle Thursday, 5 October, the Players Theatre in Port Macquarie on Saturday, 7 October, and the Windsor RSL on Friday, 13 October. Freddie Bailey will join O’Connor on all dates – tickets are available via Blake O’Connor’s website.
O’Connor will then perform at the Groundwater Music Festival on Friday, 20 October.
“Every time I arrive home to Port Macquarie, it’s still the most breath-taking place of all,” O’Connor said in a My Countrytown feature earlier this year, in case you didn’t know how happy he is to tour back home. “It doesn’t get much better than eating fish and chips on the headland overlooking the beaches!”

In March, O’Connor unveiled his second album, Finding Light. “It draws from all of my favourite influences,” he revealed in a press release.
“From country and blues to classic rock and gospel. I made an album that I would want to sit and listen to from front to back, and I cannot wait for everyone to do the same thing and feel all of the things I felt when making the record.” You can listen to Finding Light here.
