Just days after his single Rock And A Hard Place was certified Diamond in Canada, Illinois country singer Bailey Zimmerman is in hot water, with the musician reportedly facing federal and criminal misdemeanour charges after allegedly trashing a hotel room.

As TMZ first reported, Zimmerman allegedly destroyed a New Mexico hotel room, causing more than USD $16,000 in damages. An arrest warrant was signed by the Sandia Police on June 18th, with the department reportedly wanting Zimmerman to face a felony charge for “criminal damage to property” and a misdemeanour charges of “falsely obtaining services”.

The incident in question is alleged to have taken place on May 27th, the same night that Zimmerman was scheduled to perform at Albuquerque’s Sandia Resort and Casino. Authorities have reportedly claimed that Zimmerman trashed the hotel room after drinking to excess, ultimately cancelling the evening’s performance.

Zimmerman is also alleged to have refused to leave the resort in a bus provided by staff, eventually being escorted off the premises by local law enforcement.

At the time of the incident, Zimmerman addressed the performance’s cancellation on social media, telling his fans: “Y’all know there’s nothing I love more than getting out on the road and playing these shows for you, so it’s so hard for me to have to say this, but I have to reschedule tonight’s (5/27) and Saturday’s (5/30) shows.

“I have not been feeling well and have tried to power through, but I am not able to give you all the show you deserve.”

TMZ notes that legal documents claim the likes of a TV, phone, coffee table, and two chairs were among the items damaged by Zimmerman. This in addition to “a hole in one wall, damage to others, stains on the carpet and 2 missing chairs.”

The resort also alleges that USD $400 worth of alcohol was charged to Zimmerman’s room and was not paid for.

Efforts by both the resort’s staff and local police to contact Zimmerman and his staff were reportedly fruitless, resulting in the issuing of the nascent warrant.

It’s unclear whether these charges would affect Zimmerman’s upcoming Australian tour plans, where he was listed as one of the international headliners of the Strummingbird festival alongside Post Malone, Stella Lefty, and more. Two headline dates for Melbourne and Sydney are also planned.
