In April, the Davisson Brothers Band dropped their latest album, Home Is Where The Heart Is, and shared an exclusive track-by-track breakdown of the record with Countrytown. Lead guitarist Chris Davisson said about the album, “We like to think we’re still evolving and going new places, but most importantly, we represent our family, our home state,” of Clarksburg, West Virginia.
He added, “We come from somewhere, and that means the most to us. Our heritage and our culture, our history, we like to represent that the best we can, and that’s on our mind at all times. We are loyal to where we come from, and I think that resonates in our music.”
On Home Is Where The Heart Is, the Davisson Brothers Band teamed up with producers Brett Cobb and David “Ferg” Ferguson (Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Margo Price) for a tender 12-track release that once again proved why Australian country music legend Lee Kernaghan endorsed the band live from the 2018 CMC Music Awards.

The brothers now call Home Is Where The Heart Is their seminal work, with Donnie Davisson commenting, “It was just real and raw – I’m in love with this record. I feel like we finally captured what the Davisson Brothers Band are trying to do.”
In September 2022, the Davisson Brothers Band signed with Australian label Red Dog Recordings, which had already hosted Shannon Noll and Southbound xo on its roster.
Justin Thomson, the National Content Director of KIX Country, said about the new partnership with the Aussie label, “Australia loves the Davisson Brothers Band. This partnership with Red Dog Recordings has come at the perfect time. We are long overdue for some new DDB music on the radio!”
You can celebrate the band’s new album and their 2023 live show on Thursday morning. In the meantime, check out the music video for Home, which is currently airing on CMT.
