Next Friday (12 January) marks the first taste of new music from Amber Lawrence in 2024, with the six-time Golden Guitar winner announcing the release of her latest single, 5 Years Of You.
Expected to be the kind of song any parent can relate to, 5 Years Of You is the story of Lawrence and her child, who’s about to embark on the next part of their journey: starting school. You can pre-save the track here.
“I'm so happy to announce that we are releasing new music - NEXT FRIDAY,” Lawrence wrote on Instagram yesterday. “5 Years Of You - my heartfelt, self penned song about my 5 Year old starting school, and all of the emotions that go with lifes changes and big milestones.
“Make this song yours, and have a cry on day 1 of Term 1 (or a celebration), or even reminisce those days”.
You can listen to the lovely teaser below.
Last September, Countrytown unveiled the video premiere for Lawrence’s single Live A Country Song, a cheery track anyone who loves country music will likely see themselves in.

With a music video featuring stop-motion animation, bursts of colour, some black and white drawn images, journeys on the road, happy fans and Amber Lawrence and her band playing their new song, it’s a clip as optimistic and warm as her lyrics.
In a press release, Lawrence and collaborators Nick and Tom of The Wolfe Brothers said about the meaning of the song, “We love everything about it, we live and breathe it, we write it, and we sing about it, and we hope you get to live your very own country song!”
Live A Country Song was followed by the release of the bonus edition of Lawrence’s A Very Aussie Aussie Christmas, with the new version containing four extra songs.
A re-release of her 2017 festive album, the bonus edition arrived with her takes on the Wham! classic, Last Christmas, and another three Christmas essentials: Jingle Bells, Rudolf The Red-Nosed Reindeer, and Jingle Bell Rock.
Amber Lawrence will kick off 2024 with an appearance at the Tamworth Country Music Festival.
