Country trailblazer Adam Brand has been announced as the Australia's only music festival on an island, Country on Keppel headliner for 2022.

Country trailblazer Adam Brand has been announced as the Country on Keppel headliner for 2022 – one of the only music festivals that continues to run despite the ongoing pandemic.

In a coup for the festival, organisers told Brand about the benefits of performing on a tropical island in winter and the multi-Golden Guitar winner jumped at the chance.

Brand says, “I’ve heard so much about this festival – the only country festival on an island in Australia-that I have to see what it is all about for myself. I love nothing more than rocking out with my band and with a setting like Great Keppel Island mixed with a few cocktails, I think the crowd will be well and truly ready to party next year.”

Scheduled for July 15-17, 2022 at Great Keppel Island Hideaway (15 kilometres from the coast off Yeppoon in the Shire of Livingstone, Queensland), Country on Keppel offers a truly unique mix of music and island atmosphere to create a festival like no other.

Festival organiser Peter Blundell adds, “We cannot wait to welcome Adam Brand to Country on Keppel and for him to enjoy the laid back atmosphere this island festival offers. Country on Keppel is sure to be one big party with Adam as our headliner on Friday and Saturday nights and he’s also going to join us for the extremely popular Songwriters In The Round on Sunday.”

The third annual Country on Keppel, held in July in 2021, saw performances by SaltbushSix, Matt Cornell, multi-award winner James Blundell, Golden Guitar winner Brad Butcher, Jonny Taylor, Danny Phegan and band, Aaron Jurd, Melissa Lukin and the inaugural Green Brothers Country on Keppel Talent Search winner, Bella Mackenzie.

Brand was meant to headline the now cancelled 40th Gympie Music Muster alongside a stellar line-up of Australian talent, including Lee Kernaghan, Troy Cassar-Daley, Shane Nicholson, Travis Collins, Fanny Lumsden, Casey Barnes, Brad Cox, Natalie Pearson, The Wolfe Brothers, The Buckleys, Jasmine Rae, Andrew Swift, Hurricane Fall, Darlinghurst, Brook Chivell and Caitlyn Shadbolt among others.
