What do you hope to take away from BIGSOUND 2024?

Wade Forster

The opportunities that BIGSOUND 2024 is offering are amazing in their own right; just being able to play there is awesome. The big thing for me, however, is trying to build myself with a team that will help me in the future to tour internationally and be able to perform abroad to the fans I have built online.

I want to showcase Australian country music to the world, whether it be the United States of America, Canada, or the United Kingdom. My following in Texas showed up in numbers during my free pop-up show in June 2024, so with a team around me (Management and/or labels), I think we can make huge moves to help not just myself but the artists on the rise.

I have a strong community ethic, so I'm really looking forward to meeting and building connections with other artists at BIGSOUND. I'm also starting work on my sophomore album, and I'm hoping to enhance my skill and capacity to drive a solid release campaign.

Claudia Tripp

This is my first-ever BIGSOUND and my first time performing in Brisbane, which is so exciting in itself. I feel very grateful for the opportunity to showcase my music to a new audience, and in front of industry peers. Looking into the next year I have some real big plans, and my main goal is to build a team to help me do it in the best and most authentic way. I’m hoping BIGSOUND is the place to find those like-minded people and start building my team.

New relationships. It's not every day that this many artists and industry representatives are in the same place all at once, and I'm excited to get to meet some new faces. It's a big, wide world out there in the music industry, and there's always so much left to learn. Meeting the right people who can lend a hand or give good advice is invaluable.

Homegrown Trio

After being in Nashville for the past three years, we really can’t wait to reconnect with artists back here in AUS and to make new connections with those we haven’t had a chance to meet before. Y.O.G.A wanna collab? ;)

Lane Pittman

I’m walking in with no expectations; I think that’s a really good way to approach things. I’m just excited to get in there, play a rocking show with my band and show everyone who Lane Pittman is as a live performer.

Hudson Rose

It is such an exciting opportunity! My aim is to meet and connect with as many new people within the industry as possible and show what I can do. I am so excited to perform with my band and have been working on the show for a while. I want to take it as an opportunity to expand, connect and grow.

Watty Thompson

It’d be great if it weren’t the case, but writing and performing are only a small part of a musician's workload. Most of the blood, sweat, and tears are in the work that goes into getting your music out there to reach an audience.

You’ve gotta push through with utter self-belief and tunnel vision to make a go of it. Often, I ponder on how much incredible music exists, but hasn’t been heard due to self-doubt or artists not having the support network or community around them to help fan their flames of belief. This is particularly common in regional areas.

I am grateful to have the opportunity to be at BIGSOUND, introducing this music to people who may not have heard it before. I hope that I may meet some like-minded characters who can help expand the reach of my music through avenues I may not have had access to in the past.
