Believe it or not, Australian fan favourites Zac & George will soon embark on their first-ever headline tour across the country.

Touring in support of their debut album, Call It a Day, released earlier this month, the duo are presenting their songs, new and old, to audiences across Queensland in November – more tour dates are coming in 2027.

Featuring singles such as Longneck Weekend, Nights We Won’t Remember, and 2 For, Zac & George explained that the album has been designed to “bring you up, to lift you out of a tough day and bring positivity into your life.” They added, “Right now, we live in such a doom and gloom world, and we strive to be a positive part of your life.”

Call It a Day arrives with the live show in mind, while the duo also examine key relationships and experiences – writing what they know. “This album really feels like us and where we’re at in life,” Zac & George said.

“So much of what we’ve written comes from things we’ve actually lived: weekends, relationships, mistakes, good times and the little moments with your mates that don’t seem that important until you look back on them. We wanted Call It A Day to be an album you can put on with your friends and let play all the way through, but also one where you hear a song and think, ‘I’ve lived that.’”

Zac & George – Call It a Day Track-by-Track

NIGHTS WE WON’T REMEMBER

When we decided on the direction for the project, we knew we needed our own festival red solo cup song. We had the vision for this song to be walking out at shows with everyone having their drinks raised, ready for a great night. It’s got big guitars, catchy melodies, and big drums. It’s one of our favourites on the project, and we hope you all enjoy it as well.

CALL IT A DAY

At the time of writing Call It A Day, little did we know that it would become the backbone of this album. We released this song as an independent single, and our listeners clearly showed us the type of music they were into. So, we decided we should listen to the listeners too and make a project around what they clearly love - leaving the working week for the weekdays and making the weekends as long as we can! So here is Call It A Day.

ONE SIP AWAY

This song is one of the more country-pop tracks on the album. We love the youthfulness in this song and the difference it gives the album. It definitely reminds us a bit of our song, Lovin’ In It; however, it is a bit more upbeat.

LONGNECK WEEKEND

Longneck Weekend, I have to say this has to be one of the funnest songs on the album. Heavily inspired by Call It a Day, we wanted to create a song that made you boogie with a groovy underlying bass line and drums that make you wanna tap your toe. We thought what better way to start your weekend than with a song like this!

LOVIN’ YOU’S

This is just your classic country-pop driving song. When writing this song with our good mate Daymon Osborn, who we also wrote Longneck Weekend with, we wanted that light, fresh feel that we used to love listening to growing up. When we got into the studio, this song really came to life.

TANK TOP

So, we’ve been holding onto this song for a little while now because we didn’t really know when would be a good time to release it. We were actually halfway through writing another song when I said the lyric “tank top”, and then Zac spontaneously said “of the world”, and it was a moment where all four songwriters looked at each other and said to ourselves, we’ve gotta throw out whatever we were writing and write this as a new song! This song is more about being in the days of living in a postcard-perfect view with your special person. We do get a little bit cheesy sometimes! We hope you enjoy Tank Top.

GOOD NIGHT

This song has always stuck with us. It was in our heads for months after we wrote it, and it was one of the last songs we recorded for the project. When we wrote Good Night, we weren’t sure if we would ever get the chance to release it, with it being so pop, but we’re so glad it made the album. We can’t wait to mess with this song live and take it on tour.

2 FOR

2 FOR!!! This song only just made its way into the album, and I’m glad it did! We wrote this song on a recent Nashville trip with a couple of buddies, Ethan Escue and Elise Yulo. We’ve written a fair few songs with a lease and Ethan over the time, and we love riding with them both!

Ethan has one of the coolest southern accents you’ve ever heard, and we ended up writing this song and recording demo vocals before we realised how southern we had sung some of these lyrics, and some of the words only rhymed in a southern accent - YOU KNOW, I’VE GOT A HANKERIN, FOR A CORNER JUX BOX JOINT CRANKIN - SALOON DOUBLE DENT DOOR SWINGING - it doesn't sound right laugh! So, it became SWAINGING! This one has to be one of the favourite songs to play live, so turn it up here’s two for!

COLD BEER AWAY

Cold Beer Away is for your average days when you get home and just feel like putting your feet up and cracking a cold one. We love the feel of this song. It gives a big anthemic feeling with the production, and it’s another one that we can’t wait to add to the live show. Along with most of the record, this song encourages you to see the brighter side of life, and whatever day you’re having, it isn’t all that bad at the end of the day.

THESE WERE THE DAYS

These Were The Days is a little bit of a play on lyrics. It’s easy to roll on through life and not realise how quickly time flies by - as the song says. We might not necessarily be where we want to be, but it’s important that we take note and appreciate the little things. Go out there and find the joy in your day - cause you don’t get any days back! These were the days.

MORE THAN A SONG

More Than A Song is a very special one for us. It doesn’t necessarily fit the messaging on this album, but it’s a song about our story. It was actually almost the title track for the album - that’s how much we connected with this song and what it says about us.

We were up in Brisbane a few years ago and, at the last minute, connected with a couple of friends of ours to write a song. After we caught up, they said, “You guys haven’t got a song that tells people who you are yet”... That’s where this song came from. We have been holding onto it for the right time, and what better time than your debut album.

BLOW MY BLUES

Zac and I started writing this song at the farm down in New South Wales. We wanted to create just a chill song that wasn’t overthought but really described where we were at the time. A couple of Young broke fellas, but finding the glass are full…  somewhere! Wealthy and only about money; it’s about relationships, and that’s really what this song pivoted around - so picture this: a young fella, no money, no fuel, not a lot going on, you know, but he’s got a stunner next to him, so tell me why life isn’t good! Haha.
