Australian contemporary country singer-songwriter Sammi Palinkas is back with a fiery new music video, which Countrytown is exclusively premiering today.
The new song, No Settlin’, will be released this Friday (18 October). The music video finds Palinkas portraying her own version of a “Western Barbie.”
The video finds her sitting outside a huge white house with boxes packed before setting the white picket fence dream on fire. She drives a white convertible with said boxes in the backseat, and the singer shows off her personality through each moment of the video.
Palinkas sings, “No settlin’, I’m happy on my own,” presenting a new countrified empowerment banger with a fresh twist. As for the music itself, Palinkas’ voice is strong and commanding, while the banjo, steel guitar, and drums make for an authentic country classic.
Palinkas travelled to Victoria’s picturesque Mornington Peninsula for the fun, imaginative video.
She recalled comments that she resembled a “Western Barbie,” collaborated with Bonnie Jarrett of BonnCreative, and used AI to bring her vision of proving she’s not just another pretty blonde country singer to life.

“No Settlin’ marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for me, and I’m beyond proud of the world we’ve built around this song and my album. I can’t wait to share it with everyone,” Palinkas said.
Palinkas is working hard on her debut album with acclaimed producer Rod McCormack (Paul Kelly, The Wolfe Brothers, Lee Kernaghan).
She added, “I had so much fun writing this song with Rod McCormack and Nashville’s Sally Barris. Rod came up with the line, ‘There’s no settlin’ for me, even when I settle down,’ it immediately struck a chord with me.
“We grow up with this idea of the ‘white picket fence’ dream, but life doesn’t always unfold that way. No Settlin’ came from that realisation: I’d rather be happy on my own, pursuing what I love, than settle for anything less. I hope listeners feel empowered to follow their own path, whatever that looks like for them.”
