The ten best songs dropping this week (Friday June 19) have been chosen and are ready for your ears on Countrytown’s weekly playlist, The Country Drop.

Each week, the team at Countrytown does the work: we sift through the best country songs and deliver ten freshest songs you need to hear. We want you to hear the best new tunes each week, and that’s where The Country Drop comes in.

From Tori Darke to Brad Paisley, The Wet Whistles, NEEDTOBREATHE, Cole Swindell, Waylon Wyatt, a duet with Braxton Keith and Tyla Rodrigues, and much more, this week offers yet another banging round-up of country music from Nashville and across the world.

You can listen to the full playlist on Spotify or Apple Music.

Waylon Wyatt - Leave It Alone

We caught Waylon Wyatt at the recent CMA Fest in Nashville, and he did not disappoint. Leave It Alone is the latest drop from his Dustpiles album, which drops on July 17. Get ready for the record and his visit to Australia coming up in January.

Tori Darke - Prettiest Wreck

Another standout performer from CMA Fest and coming off the back of a stunning performance at the Countrytown Awards earlier this year, 2026 seems to be the year of Tori Darke. Prettiest Wreck is possibly her biggest claim on playlists yet. Check out more on this one here.

Cole Swindell - Girl Dad

Get out the tissues… This song serves as a sequel to Cole Swindell’s 2015 hit You Should Be Here, reflecting on the sudden passing of his father and how much he wishes his dad were still around to witness his life milestones. Written with Trannie Anderson, Mark Holman and Michael Hardy and released ready for US Father’s Day weekend, this one hits all the feels.

Melanie Dyer - If She Only Knew

Another Aussie that blew CMA away in Nashville this month, Melanie Dyer, is gearing up for a new record later this year, her first since moving to Nashville last year. A letter penned to her younger self, this is a great window into what we’re expecting to be a killer album.

The Wet Whistles - Bury Me Alive

The Wet Whistles keep impressing, single after single and Bury Me Alive is no exception. You can check this one out at next month’s Lasso Country Music Festival in Brisbane.

Brad Paisley - Treading Whiskey

The most “needs no intro” on this week’s playlist, Brad Paisley is back with a five-track EP, including this title track. The EP also features collabs with Miranda Lambert and David Lee Murphy.

Braxton Keith & Tyla Rodrigues - Do I Ever Cross Your Mind

This banger landed in March as an Amazon exclusive, but today gets a wider release with Apple and Spotify along for the ride. Tyla Rodrigues (also a CMA Fest 2026 alum) is having a blinder of a year, recently announcing US management and is still riding high with her ‘official’ new song Honky Tonk Healing, dropping three weeks ago and currently sitting at #41 in the Countrytown Charts.

Kashus Culpepper - Let Me Show You Love

Kashus Culpepper is a fave here at Countrytown after performing at our 2025 awards and has today dropped a companion EP to his debut album Act I. Full of soul and proving Culpepper’s refusal to be pigeonholed, this one’s a rolled gold banger.

Bella Mackenzie - Girl

Bella Mackenzie continues to run her own race, dropping another pop country banger for her growing fan base. You can catch her later this year at Savannah In The Round and the Deni Ute Muster.

NEEDTOBREATHE - Last Drink

Around since 1998, Americana folk act, NEEDTOBREATHE have millions of streams to their name, but have recently leaned into country after performing their hit Banks on CMT Crossroads with Jordan Davis. They have also collaborated with artists like Alana Springsteen and The Red Clay Strays, the latter of whom featured on their latest album released in March this year.
