'Saved' is out now!
Ella & Sienna released their new single, Saved, in early July. The sister duo recently filmed a killer new music video – that we’ll premiere this Friday – but for those wanting a sneak peek, here’s a little behind the scenes look at the making of the music video.
Saved was produced by Matt Fell, who was behind their previous single Next To Mine, which peaked at #32 on the Countrytown Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart. The song’s vulnerable words balance perfectly atop an upbeat, reverb-clad musical bed and jangly, chorused guitars lead the charge, leaving ample space for the sisters’ vocal harmonies to soar.
Hailing from the Adelaide Hills, Ella, 19, and Sienna, 15, are multi-instrumentalists, whose live performances mainly feature Ella on vocals/guitar, and Sienna on vocals/bass. Inspired by artists like Missy Higgins, Pink and Taylor Swift, their original music brings a unique blend of modern country, folk and acoustic pop.
Their accolades over the past three years include winning a stack of awards, including second place in both the Battle of the Young Stars and Best of the Buskers competitions in Tamworth. They placed in the top 3 of the Gympie Muster Talent Search in 2019, were finalists in Groundwater’s KIX-Start competition in 2021 and made Rita Ora’s final 6 on The Voice Australia.

Early morning dancing on a beach in mid-winter? We think yes! Our video shoot started at 7am on Henley Beach in Adelaide and it was absolutely freezing!! Aside from the cold, it turned out to be a gorgeous morning and a perfect backdrop for our video. Just look at those clouds!
Always great to have our dad on set capturing BTS moments. Like when our awesome cinematographer, Charlie Butler, stripped down to his t-shirt to make us feel better about our (not so) intelligent choice of clothing in 7°C weather. Can also confirm the rainbow was a paid actor…
Safe to say we made lots of friends that morning. It seemed the beach was the place to be for the local doggies. They really brought great enthusiasm and… well… distraction to many takes.
Another little moment that didn’t make it into the video. Always got to take the time to appreciate the sunrise. (We’re not usually awake this early!)
We gave a bit of slo-mo a go. Drawing inspiration from Coldplay’s music video for Yellow, we doubled the speed of the track and sung along. See if you can spot some slow-motion clips in the mix!
Probably the most excited we’ve been to have a shoot done and dusted! Straight home to a warm shower we went! We couldn’t be happier with how the video turned out and are so grateful to our little crew that helped us make this happen. Not sure we’d rush into another winter-beach shoot anytime soon though…
