Siobhan Cotchin has returned, fierce and empowered, with new single If God Is A Man, off her forthcoming EP, Miss Reckless. The song is fuelled with opposition to the discrimination and hatred she has witnessed across the globe, including the banning of abortion in the United States, following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, as well as the attack on LGBTQIA rights across North America.

This political voice hears Siobhan move away from topics of highways and romance, towards a song that takes a stance for what she firmly believes. As powerful as it is, Siobhan remains warm and tender, encouraging all to celebrate who they are and to not change for anyone.

In its first week of release, If God Is A Man has been supported by Apple Music (Southern Craft & New Music Daily), as well as Amazon Music (Brand New Music). Resonating soundly with females of all ages in, her audience is 55% female, with 73% of her demographic in the 18-44 bracket. Performing strongly across Australia, she has 2,200+ monthly listeners across the country, with top cities Perth, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.

Alongside this song, Siobhan is currently touring Australian alongside Kingswood, as well as her own capital city headline shows. This will be a triumphant national tour, after sharing stages with Leon Bridges, Teskey Brothers, C.W. Stoneking, The Whitlams and more, as well as Laneway, Bluesfest & BIGSOUND performances over the past 8 months.

1. Great company!

It’s cliche and cheesy, I know, but it’s important to surround yourself with supportive, kind people. I adore my band mates and we always have so much fun on the road. I love when my mum and manager Amber come along too, they’re my emotional support. Touring can get quite lonely so I’m glad the band is coming with me!

2. A good book or two

I love reading and it’s a form of escapism for me. Having a book during a long flight/car ride is essential for me because it helps me escape the real world. I love romance so I’ll definitely bring a book that’s all about falling in love, and maybe a classic to even it out…. I have to challenge myself sometimes!

3. Headphones

I love headphones instead of the little ear buds because they’re super comfortable and I lose little things really easily! I have Bluetooth headphones that are great for travelling and working out. I find it comforting and relaxing having my headphones on, especially for flights and long car trips. I love podcasts and listening to albums that really inspire me.

4. Journal

This is essential!! Being on the road can be quite overwhelming and something that calms me down is word-vomiting onto a page. I journal everyday as it’s great for my songwriting, it clears my mind and makes room to be more creative. Journaling is something everyone should do because it’s fantastic for reflection and getting more in touch with yourself.

5. Tarot cards

I have just gotten into tarot card reading and am loving it! I think it will be great to carry them with me if I need some extra guidance from the universe. I’m definitely going to do readings on the band…. Tarot is a great way for me to journal and I often use the cards drawn as writing prompts.
