Lucie Tiger, Josh Setterfield, Maren Morris Jump On The Spirit Halloween Meme

Happy Halloween!

There are thankfully no ghosts, ghouls and goblins, oh my! Just country music stars joining in on the fake Spirit Halloween costume meme. The meme riffs on Halloween costume packs, specifically by Photoshopping one produced by the popular American fancy dress company.

According to meme encyclopedia Know Your Meme, the format began in 2019, but has picked up this again in October of this year, as spooky season began in earnest. The Twitter accounts @AzureBiosystems and @thebrianasman helped restart the trend, after posting photoshopped outfits of a fake scientist and Twitter Writer costume, respectively, each made to look like they’re packaged in a Spirit Halloween costume bag.

While International artists like Mitchell Tenpenny, Jake Hoot and Maren Morris have jumped on the trend, the latter referencing her feud with Jason Aldean’s wife Brittany Aldean, Australian country artists like Josh Setterfield, Hinterland and Lucie Tiger have joined in too.
