For Flatland Cavalry, Australia isn’t just another tour stop, it’s a long-overdue adventure. The Texas band known for their harmony driven, modern country sound are heading down under next week as part of Lainey Wilson’s Australian Whirlwind Tour as well as being locked in for a massive performance at Howlin’ Country in Newcastle.
Between shows, the band has their priorities straight: good coffee, good beer and a healthy dose of classic Aussie experiences.
Flatland Cavalry’s Aussie Bucket List:
1. Enjoy a flat white or long black each morning
2. Observe a kangaroo and/or koala or two
3. Take a surfing lesson
4. See how many various Australian beers they can taste
Cleto Cordero’s (Lead vocalist of Flatland Cavalry) Aussie bucket list reads like a greatest hits guide to doing it right.
Kaitlin Butts is bringing the same wide-eyed excitement to her Australian debut. The Oklahoma star, known for her raw honesty and emotional punch, will also join the tour and take the Howlin’ Country stage. For Butts, the trip down under is equal parts music, nature and indulgence; and she’s not holding back on the must-dos either.
Kaitlin Butts’ Aussie Bucket List:
1. Meet a Koala! I might cry over the cuteness, but I love animals and I can’t wait to see the wildlife of Australia.
2. Bondi Beach - Hopefully catch a day out on the beach. It’s winter in Nashville, so to get some sun and fun on the beach would be incredible.
3. COFFEE & FOOD! - I have heard that Australia is known for their coffee and I’m a caffeine addict so I’m so excited to taste what y’all have going on over there!
4. Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge - It’s iconic! Why wouldn’t I want to have the breeze blowing while I get to see the city from one of the most unique platforms.
5. Drink all the wine! - I’ve always heard Australia has some incredible wineries, so I plan to indulge.
It’s equal parts iconic tourist energy and genuine excitement to experience the country beyond the stage.
Their visit aligns perfectly with the 2026 Howlin’ Country Festival, which continues to grow as a key destination for international country artists and Australian fans alike. Set against the backdrop of coastal Newcastle, the festival blends big name performances with a laid back atmosphere, making it the ideal stop for artists keen to explore, play and fully immerse themselves. For Flatland Cavalry and Kaitlin Butts, this tour isn’t just a career moment, it’s going to be a bucket list trip in the making.
