CountryTown is proud to announce Felicity Kircher, as our Artist Of The Week, following the release of her new single, Sweet Tea.

Felicity says, “Sweet Tea, when I was writing it, I came up with this little jazz, folky line with the guitar. I was grooving sort of James Taylor, Jack Johnson vibes and thinking happy things. It’s definitely a love story but it mentions all the sweet things about that feeling of being in love, the sweet things about it. It’s a chilled, sweet song.”

With over a decade of experience at only 17 years of age, the Brisbane-based singer-songwriter has toured across Australia playing hundreds of shows and sharing the stage with the likes of Kasey Chambers, Casey BarnesTroy Cassar-Daley, Adam Harvey, Pete Denahy, Chelsea Basham and Ashleigh Dallas

From a musical family, Felicity has been appearing on stage and performing in talent contests since she was four years old. She began singing regularly at Brisbane’s EKKA since the age of seven, attending her first Tamworth Country Music Festival the following year. Felicity is also a multi-instrumentalist who plays violin, guitar and piano (plus some banjo and mandolin).

Ever the avid and prolific songwriter, Felicity draws lyrics from her everyday life, stories from people she meets, environmental issues and her core values. It’s her expressive, honest and genuine story telling ability through her songs, that touches people’s hearts wherever she goes.

Occasionally Felicity treads the musical theatre stage too, performed roles in musicals such as Annie, The Sound Of Music and moreShe was also the featured vocalist with Creative Generation Queensland State Schools Onstage in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
