Australia’s favourite rural dating show is officially back, with Channel 7 confirming the new season of Farmer Wants A Wife Australia will premiere on Monday June 8.

After months of speculation, teaser clips and internet thirsting over this year’s farmers, people are more than ready.

Over the past few years, Farmer Wants A Wife has quietly transformed from wholesome reality TV into one of Australia’s biggest annual pop culture events.

Every season somehow delivers the perfect mix of romance, awkward first impressions, dramatic exits and emotional conversations in paddocks and he viewers absolutely eat it up every single time.

This year’s season will introduce a fresh lineup of farmers searching for love, including dairy farmers, cattle farmers, sheep farmers and orchard owners from across regional Australia. Early promos have already hinted at plenty of chemistry, emotional moments and the inevitable culture clash between city contestants and rural life.

Part of what continues to make Farmer Wants A Wife work so well is that it still feels surprisingly genuine compared to a lot of other reality dating formats. While there’s always drama, the series has built a strong reputation for actual long-term relationships, marriages and families forming after the cameras stop rolling.

Host Natalie Gruzlewski will once again return to guide the farmers and contestants through the highs, lows and inevitable emotional spiral of dating on national television.

And while there’ll no doubt be tears, awkward dinners and at least one contestant questioning whether they can really leave Sydney for farm life, viewers are already counting down the days until the series returns.
