It’s been an interesting season of the Australian edition of Farmer Wants A Wife (so far), with fans commenting on and getting drawn into increased drama and conflict between potential love interests.

Following last Monday and Tuesday night’s premiere episodes, which featured the first round of dates between farmers and the women vying for their hearts, TikToker Brianna Page – a previous contestant in 2025 – shared winner predictions.

After those two episodes, Page shared that she wants Farmer Dylan to choose Ally, but believes that Renae, both women are aged 23, could be the one. And after episode five last night (16 June), where only Renae was up for playing footy with Farmer Dylan, and he expressed disappointment in Ally for not participating, the tide could start to turn.

Page also predicted that Farmer Jarrad will end up choosing Carley, despite also having a successful date with Cara. Meanwhile, Yvonne and Brodie still haven’t had the opportunity to showcase their potential.

Could Farmer Alex and Eddy be end game? After he gifted Eddy a necklace on their first date, that pretty much secures her for the win – and Page agrees. She also argued that Farmer Jason and Beth could make it to the end, but that theory quickly went out the window after Jessie, Jessica and Beth all decided to leave on their own accord. It’s also too soon to tell what will happen with Farmer Zac and the women he takes on dates.

Fan speculation has also led to a rumour around the cast, which is backed by promotion in the lead-up to this year’s season.

Initially, Channel Seven was promoting six farmers as this year’s premiere approached.

But according to reports, cattle farmer John, from Mogumber, WA, was dropped from the cast. Rumours suggest his storyline was shaping up to be too similar to Farmer Jason, and producers ultimately chose someone they believed would draw more interest.

As for the narratives currently taking place in the series, Tuesday night’s episode has been described as its “messiest” yet, as drama between Miranda and Maya is hitting surprising and unpleasant heights.

The drama, fans and recapping journalists say, resembles Married At First Sight’s mean-girl behaviour a bit too much, when Farmer Wants A Wife has always been on the wholesome side of reality dating and marriage-kind-of shows.
