Darlinghurst have dropped their fifth single, the emotionally charged, 'You Stopped Making Sense' with guest vocalist Shannon Noll.
Darlinghurst (Darlinghurst)
Over the past two years, Darlinghurst has released six songs and all six have landed in the Top 5 of the Countrytown Music Network Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart, with four of the six – Sorry Won’t Get You Back, Gotta Go Rodeo, Where Do We Go and recent single, Unfaithful climbing all the way to the coveted #1 position.
Now the four-piece Melbourne band have dropped their fifth single off their forthcoming 11-track debut album, due later this year. The emotionally charged, You Stopped Making Sense features lead vocals from band member Pagan Newman and guest vocalist Shannon Noll.
Pagan says, "You Stopped Making Sense is a heartbreaking self-realisation that embodies strength and independence at the most vulnerable moment, when you're about to leave the past behind."
Since their debut single, Sorry We Won’t Get Back To You in June 2019, Darlinghurst have been blazing a path through Australian country music, including scoring a nomination for ‘Best New Talent’ at the 2021 Golden Guitar Awards. Two of their singles have tasted US success, with So Long So Long debuting at #73 on the US Music Row chart, and Gotta Go Rodeo still charting.

Consisting of Jason Resch, Pagan Newman, Cassie Leopold and Matt Darvidis, the story of Darlinghurst is an interesting one … After four years and a run of hits in the UK, as well as stints in Los Angeles and Nashville, Jason returned home to Melbourne at the end of 2015.
Two years later, he met up with Cassie and Pagan in 2017 and they decided to form a band. Cassie did backing vocals for Christine Anu and Olivia Newton-John, and played theme parks in the US, meanwhile, Pagan cut a RNB/Soul album in the US, and is a music teacher. Wanting to expand into a four-piece, their producer suggested Matt – a guitarist from a family of musicians. As soon as he heard the songs, he agreed straight away to join Darlinghurst – and the rest, as they say, is history.
Since finishing as runner-up on the first season of Australian Idol, Shannon Noll aka ‘Nollsie’ has gone on to receive acclaim with certified triple-platinum sales, number #1 hits, five top 10 albums, has 17 platinum and three gold accreditations, and boasts a reputation as the only Australian male artist in national chart history to have ever achieved ten consecutive top ten singles. He joined all-female super-group, Southbound on their #1 single, Find Out Way and recently released his album, RAW.
