Nashville singer-songwriter Chase Wright is pegged as ‘one to watch’, and his new genre blend single, Why Should We is our Song of the Day.
Chase Wright (Chase Wright)
At the end of 2020, Nashville-based, singer-songwriter Chase Wright was pegged as ‘one to watch’ thanks in part to performance covers of Tate McRae’s You Broke Me First and Justin Bieber’s Lonely as well as original recordings on his TikTok account.
Written alongside Gary Garris and Levi Hummon and produced by Zach Abend, Why Should We is the 24-year-old's first music drop of 2021, and is our Song of the Day.
With his feet firmly planted in the relatable storytelling that the country music format is known for, Why Should We is infused with many of the pop and rock elements that Chase grew up with. Influences like Rascal Flatts and Keith Urban, as well as 3 Doors Down, The Fray, Matchbox Twenty and Goo Goo Dolls can be heard in his music.
Of the single, Chase says,“Lots of times early on in relationships, we hold back and don’t say what we mean. We’re too cool, or trying to be too casual. Writing this is a message from me to me, saying it’s okay to be honest both with myself and with others. It’s too easy for time go by without just saying what you mean.”
