More Hinterland More Hinterland

Following on from last year’s banger, Giddy Up – which we premiered here, Hinterland has dropped their latest single, Treating Me Good – it’s our Song of the Day! Written by all three band members and produced by lead guitarist Robbie Bostock himself, the track tells the tale of lavishly treating oneself in order to make up for being neglected by an ex-lover.

Hinterland says, “We are so proud of this track that we wrote, arranged and produced all by ourselves. We worked hard to create a Brad Paisley and Miranda Lambert vibe (some of our favourite artists!) and tell a unique story and we hope you enjoy it!!”

Transitioning from being 2020’s new kids on the block to becoming one of 2021’s most talked-about emerging talents, the Gold Coast’s Hinterland have made strides with their first EP. The EP has achieved more than one million spins across digital streaming platforms, and counting, and features their four top 20 country radio singles including the title track, Loud.

All three members of Hinterland are experienced live performers and stalwarts of the Australian country scene, with each also being a “triple threat” – a singer, songwriter and master of their instrument. Rachel Bostock is one of the most revered violinists in Australia and a three-time Golden Fiddle Award winner. Robbie Bostock recently won a National Songwriting Award for an original instrumental and has toured the world playing guitar on the biggest stages with some of our huge homegrown talent. Emmanuel (daughter of Australian music royalty, Phil Emmanuel) has an APRA Songwriters Award under her belt and a co-writing credit on a hugely successful single, Taylor MossLet Me Be, which reached #3 on the iTunes charts in 2019 after taking an 8-year break from writing.

After finding that there simply weren’t enough big, rocking band songs in country or pop music Robbie, Rachel and Jesse decided it was time to bring back the riff in 2020. They enlisted the help of acclaimed producer Stuart Stuart to help them find their style and unique sound as a group. A blend of modern writing and slick country production with elements of 80s and 90s pop/rock, tied together with the all-important guitar and violin solos and layered harmonies, Hinterland aims to combine musical nostalgia with an appreciation for showy playing to create seriously catchy songs laden with hooks, riffs and raw talent.
