Singer-songwriter, Grace Mae drops her bright and breezy new single, The Music Goes On this Monday, and Countrytown has your first look/listen ahead of its release in this exclusive premiere!
Produced by Josh Schuberth, Grace notes that The Music Goes On nearly wrote itself as the words flowed naturally, as lockdown made her appreciate live music and being together with friends and family more than ever.
She says, “The Music Goes On is about missing things and realising what you took for granted previously. Writing this song was definitely therapeutic. I had an idea in my head with the chord progression then sat down and wrote it in half an hour before I workshopped it with my mentor and vocal coach, Lyn Bowtell.”
The accompanying music video this single was shot and co-directed by Wollongong local Bobby Kidd, starring Grace’s friends and family.

She adds, “I love the way he captured the way this song makes me feel. It shows the summer vibe of the song and the friends and family and everything I missed during COVID times. My closest friends and family are in it, and one of the guys (Dylan McQuire) has also done the designs for my shirts as well. I even included the family dog, Sonny the Golden Retriever and my little cousin, Jessica.”
The 2016 CMAA Junior Academy of Country Music graduate was introduced to country music by her neighbour after moving from the UK to Australia. With a love of all thing’s music, drama and performance, the NSW South Coast teenager plans to make music her full-time career and she’s well on the way.
