7 Summers is a nostalgia-loaded warm gust of fresh air that will certainly make it into plenty of beach-headed, road-trip playlists.
Knoxville singer Morgan Wallen has been on a rocket to the stars in 2020, despite global hiccups, with singles Chasin' You and More Than My Hometown landing competitive positions in the Country Hot 50 chart at #36 and #49 in the Country Hot 50 chart, and now he's released his latest charge on the charts 7 Summers.
Co-written by Nashville songwriting big-names Shane McAnally and Josh Osbourne, 7 Summers is a nostalgia-loaded warm gust of fresh air that will certainly make it into plenty of beach-headed, road-trip playlists.
The process of releasing 7 Summers was a new experience for Wallen taking to social media to test-ride a song before finishing it up and sending it out in the world.
"When quarantine first started I was challenged to do a demo on Instagram, so I put out the first verse and chorus. I heard a lot of good feedback from it on Instagram, and then it started making the rounds on TikTok - I saw how much the song was getting played and how much people were enjoying it, even just the first verse and chorus," said Wallen.

"Social media played a huge part in releasing this song, especially this early. It's a cool thing, being on the fence about it then being able to put it out and get people's feedback. I think that speaks to just how much fans mean to me and fans mean to music. I’m glad I’m getting to put it out and glad people are loving it, I can’t wait for ya’ll to hear the full version."
This week also see's Wallen's album 'If I Know Me', released in 2018, surge back up the Billboard charts to the #1 spot supplying some extra confidence and support for the singer-songwriters process from his loyal fanbase.
"I think this speaks to the depth of the project, when me, my producer and songwriters were making this album, I wanted make sure it was good from top to bottom, and this feat that we just accomplished is really showing us that's what we did. I'm super thankful for the fans, for people who just discovered me. It's been an awesome journey, and I can't wait to put out my next one. Hopefully they'll like this new one just as much!"
Wallen is currently hauled up in the studio with his long-time collaborator and producer Joey Moi putting the finishing touches on his anticipated second album which will likely deliver the fresh, modern sound that Morgan Wallen has built his name atop.
