New Zealand’s award-winning country-pop singer-songwriter, Kaylee Bell’s new single Living Free featuring country superstar, Lindsay Ell is our Song of the Day! Working alongside Sam Sumser, Michael Lotten, Lindsay Rimes and Simon Oscroft— Living Free is the perfect anthem following the lockdown lifestyle.
Speaking about living in the moment, and being care free, Bell explains "This song is message of empowerment, and we can’t wait to play live together! I hope it’s a positive reminder for us all right now to focus on what really matters.”
Living Free is off Bell’s new album, Silver Linings, due for release on November 26. The album also features Before I Met You – her collaboration with Australian sister trio The McClymonts (which peaked at number five on the Countrytown Music Network Hot 50 Country Airplay Chart) and That Summer featuring Nashville-native singer-songwriter Josh Mirenda.
For Bell, the album is a thrill to finally share, “I am so excited to create a package of songs all written and produced through this pandemic that I can now share with fans, and it is an honour to have some of my friends work with me to create this project. I have been on an incredible journey the last 5 years with my music reaching fans around the globe and I Just want to keep growing that and bring people on this journey of music and life with me.”
The Red EP was Bell’s previous album in 2019, with over 10 million plays and featuring hit singles such as Getting Closer, Keith and Wasted on You. She was recently selected by Spotify to represent New Zealand Australians artists as the face of EQUAL Global Music Program, profiled on a massive billboard in Times Square New York. With over 10 million streams on all platforms, Bell continues to reign as the Most Streamed Female Artist for Australasia.

As well as being invited to perform the #1 single We Were Us with Keith Urban on his Light The Fuse World Tour of Australia in 2014 and again on his 2016 ripCORD World Tour in Wellington, Bell has opened for Alan Jackson, Lee Kernaghan, The McClymonts, Morgan Evans and The Chicks.
Over the past 3 years, Ell has shared the stage with some of the biggest acts in the world touring with Urban, Brad Paisley, and Sugarland. She has more than held her own in moments alongside such artists as Mellissa Etheridge, Billy Ray Cyrus, Robert Randolph, Billy Gibbons and other legends.
She has made multiple appearances on the CMA Awards stage including playing with Carrie Underwood and performing with distinguished country group, Little Big Town, alongside other powerhouse female artists in one the biggest moments of the 2019 CMA Awards where she was also nominated for ‘Musical Event of the Year’. Ell’s nominations do not stop there, she is a 2x 2020 ACM nominee for ‘New Female Artist of the Year’ and ‘Music Event of the Year’.
Her new album, heart theory, weaves the story of her journey of the heart in her own voice using her arsenal of tools as a musician and artist to give each song the sonic backdrop it deserves. The tracks take the listener along the path of the seven stages of grief: shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, testing and acceptance.
