Kora Naughton's latest single, Lap Around The Sun is an energetic, fun and happy celebration anthem for 2021 and is our Song Of The Day.
19-year-old Kora Naughton taught herself to play guitar, write songs and sing after she was forced to give up her passion of cheerleading - a sport she had loved since she was 7 years old. But it wasn't until she attended her first Tamworth Country Music Festival in 2017 that she discovered that music was what she wanted to do.
Produced by Matt Fell from Love Hz Studios, her latest single, Lap Around The Sun is an energetic, fun and happy celebration anthem for 2021 and is our Song Of The Day.
“We just wrapped up a year that has been filled with more struggles than most. The one thing we held on to was the promise of a new slate when January 1st rolled around. And, while none of us truly know what 2021 has in store, the best thing any of us can do is look forward to better times and make the most out of every moment that our next 'Lap Around the Sun' brings us," says Kora.
"This seems like a bit of a cliché to say this song wrote itself, but from the moment I started writing Lap Around the Sun, everything just came to me so easily and seemed to flow exactly the way I wanted it to. When I finished it and looked back at the song I created, it screamed optimism, and I thought that it might just be what a lot of people need to hear as we come out the other side of 2020."

Kora released her debut album, Ride or Die in early 2018 with producer/musician, Rod Motbey. The album, she says, is about taking chances, doing the things you're afraid of and living life to the fullest. Singles included the title track, the lyrically darker Ravenswood Lane and Cease Fire - a song inspired by the Manchester Arena attack in 2017.
Speechless, My Heart to Break and Lap Around The Sun are off her forthcoming album due for release in early 2021.
