It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas by Lindsay Ell – Song of the Day

It’s the most wonderful time of the year – and I don’t mean Christmas, I mean that magical month where we can blast holiday music and no one can judge us for it! Because, let’s face it, who doesn’t love Christmas music all year round?! This December, we are going to be adding our Songs of the Day to our very special Countrytown Christmas Playlist, complete with re-imagined country-style holiday classics as well as what are sure to be new festive favourites!

Country superstar, Lindsay Ell instinctually re-imagines the classic holiday tune, It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas. It’s our festive Song of the Day! Flaunting her guitar prowess, she kicks off the song with an acoustic guitar solo and closes with spirited electric guitar work.

Ell said, “My fav time of year is when we start to get ready for the holidays … the cheer, the food, and especially the music. So happy to release my first Christmas song ever … It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! … and was really happy to decorate my tree early this year [for the music video] .”

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas is a classic Christmas song written in 1951 by Meredith Willson. It was originally titled, It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas, and has been recorded by many artists. It was a hit for Perry Como and The Fontane Sisters with Mitchell Ayres & His Orchestra on September 18, 1951. Bing Crosby also recorded a version in 1951, which was also widely played. Other notable versions include by Michael Buble, Harry Connick Jr., Noah Cyrus, Pentatonix, Meghan Trainor and many, many more!
