Countrytown is elated to bring you your first look the music video for Hometown, the second single by Port Macquarie-based, country-pop singer-songwriter Chris Rose, in this exclusive premiere!

Written by Chris and Mark Cipriano, and produced by Stuart Stuart, Hometown is an ode to Chris’ roots and is set to be the soundtrack to this summer’s road trips home. It’s dedicated to summer nights, parties on the sand and good times with good friends.

Chris says, “Hometown is inspired by my time living in Sydney and that feeling of excitement and longing to get on the road back home. It talks about all my favourite things. Parties on the sand with my mates, summer nights in late December, surfing, camping and more. Although it’s an upbeat/uplifting track, there’s a little nostalgic sadness buried in there.”

The music video was shot and edited by fellow country musician and videographer, Jake Davey.

Chris adds, “This music video is super special to me as it showcases some of my favourite places in my hometown Port Macquarie, and surrounds. From Lighthouse Beach, where I grew up, to Bonny Hills, and the rolling hills of Comboyne, NSW. I’m stoked that I was able to include a bunch of my closest friends that I grew up with, and I can’t thank them enough for being a part of it. This clip and song will be a memory I’ll cherish forever, and I really hope people enjoy it!”

Chris has always been blessed with ample helpings of the perfect combination of beach and bush to inspire his musical output. His signature vocal tone and his vulnerable yet controlled delivery are the key component to his sound.

Throughout his teens, Chris got his first taste of live performances at school variety concerts and talent quests. In 2009, the TDP (Talent Development Program) based at The Sydney Entertainment Centre came calling, and Chris looked on it as an opportunity to hone his craft and to share his original music with new audiences and industry mentors.

In 2012, Chris signed his very first major label record deal. It was a development deal that helped him further hone his craft and build a reputation, co-writing with some of the biggest names in music. He also has since shared the stage with some of Aussie music’s most iconic artists including Icehouse, Thirsty Merc, Sheppard, The McClymonts, The Black Sorrows, and Daryl Braithwaite.

Hometown follows his emotionally charged debut single. Centred around Chris’ devotion and commitment to his childhood sweetheart now wife, Made For Love You poetically embraces being effortlessly in the moment with the one you love.
