Zach Bryan ProfileZach Bryan just released his highly anticipated new EP, Young Manhood & Other Donatable Organs, and announced a stadium world tour in support of the release.
With so much happening this week, it's easy to miss what else the American country star has been up to. He’s also announced a memoir of the same title as his EP.
Described as a reflection on the past ten years of Bryan’s life, which details his rise to fame – from the Navy to setting a record for the highest-attended concert in US history last year – fans will get an intimate look into the singer’s life; a rarity as he’s very private and doesn’t conduct many interviews.
The book synopsis reads:
Zach Bryan writes a ten year period piece taking an in depth look at the last ten years of his life. His childhood and all he learned from it, his honorable discharge from the Navy, his touring career from small theatre’s to three night stadium sell outs, his vices and mistakes along with his victories and lessons. His lack of public statements and interviews makes this book a rare glimpse inside the mind of a generational songwriter and a better understanding of where he comes from.
The book went live for pre-order on Bryan’s website this week and is expected to ship in January 2027. At the time of publication, the memoir and the bundle with a vinyl of his new EP are sold out. Keep an eye on Bryan’s website for more copies.
Bryan also just unveiled a lengthy, two-hour interview with Matthew McConaughey on YouTube to coincide with the EP release. Reuniting with the actor after he appeared in the Nine Ball music video, Bryan explained his intent behind releasing a memoir.
Bryan said he felt he needed to tell his own story, referencing incorrect narratives that have circulated online as his success has grown.
“I learned this the hard way — I think growing up. Especially the last five years, I think if you don’t tell your own story, a thousand people will tell it for you — usually incorrectly,” he explained, via Whiskey Riff.
But his aim behind the book is something bigger: to pass it down to future generations. “I was sitting there one night after I had written like 20 pages. I felt if I wrote something down, it will last forever. I can share it with my wife one day. I can share it with my kids,” Bryan shared.
He continued, “Kids were a big inspiration — my future children, God willing. I thought, ‘Man, if I write this down, this will live forever.’ Not that it needs to live forever, not because I think people give a shit. But because I want, if I’m lucky enough to make it to 80 years old, to read it. I wrote it, and I showed all my friends. And they said, ‘Man, I didn’t know half of this about you.'”
Bryan added that he’s written the memoir to be “no bullshit” and “no frills.” The book is roughly 250 pages and brought him to tears when he finished it—and he wasn’t the only one who was emotional. So was his wife, Samantha.
“Samantha read it. She was like, ‘This is really special.’ I read it to her, and I was bawling,” he said. “I was weeping at times. I think she saw me for who I really was in that. If she can see me for who I really was in that, I think a million people might — a hundred people might, whoever picks up the book.”
