Zach Bryan has taken to social media to share a furious spray towards the “couch warriors” who have begun attacking his friends following a highly-publicised split with Brianna LaPaglia.

According to a report from People, Bryan has been receiving messages from unnamed senders following his split with LaPaglia in October 2024. The pair had been dating since July the previous year, with claims later emerging that Bryan had allegedly asked LaPaglia to sign an NDA in the wake of their breakup.

Now, Bryan appears to be entirely fed up with online trolls switching their focus from the musician to his friends, with a series of posts on his Instagram Stories attacking the anonymous commentators.

"Also all you fuckn couch warriors attacking and belittling my friends on the internet because you're assuming I have a girlfriend are weird as hell and should be studied for science," Bryan wrote. "Everyone wonders why I quit touring and don't want to be attached to music anymore meanwhile you're calling my friends ugly and harassing them?"

"I'm not asking for sympathy but going for my -friends- is so low and so messed up?“ he added. “Apparently I've [had] four different girlfriends in like two weeks meanwhile my friends and me are just laughing and hanging out like we always have."

As Bryan continued, he set the record straight by noting he doesn't "plan on" getting into another relationship soon, instead relying on his close friends at the current time. Instead, he suggested, people should switch their attention to more pertinent matters such as the Los Angeles wildfires.

“Last thing I'll ever say on this. Insane I even have to. You do not know me. You never will know me. Stop acting like you do," he added.

"No matter how bad of a person you think I am, go ahead and come for me. I can take all the hatred because I'm not a child. But do not come for my friends who do nothing but love and care for me.”

Bryan released his latest album, The Great American Bar Scene, in July 2024, with the record featuring the likes of John Mayer and Bruce Springsteen, becoming one of his most succesful releases to date.

He made his Australian debut with a one-off show in Melbourne in December 2023, and fans have been eagerly awaiting his long-overdue return since.
