Zac Brown Band Welcomes First Female Band Member: Caroline Jones

Zac Brown Band has welcomed indie country-pop artist and multi-instrumentalist, Caroline Jones as their first female band member.

Jones shared, “After 3 years as their opening act and 2 years touring in the band, I am honoured to announce that I’ll be joining the [Zac Brown Band] as an official member. Exciting (and busy!) times ahead as I perform and create with ZBB while continuing to build my own career. Thank you all for your support. Playing with ZBB makes me a better musician, vocalist, songwriter, performer, and human. I live for each of those things, and I am humbled that they believe I add to the outfit.”

“It feels like Caroline has been part of Zac Brown Band for years,” frontman Zac Brown said in a statement. “She has done a few tours with us and has also been in the recording studio creating with us. She is family and a badass musician. She sings the highest and works the hardest."

Jones has previously opened for Zac Brown Band on a few on their tours, as well as a special guest at other events, including the 2021 CMA Awards and CMA Fest in Nashville.

"As an independent artist, I owe my career to Zac and other superstar mentors who have taken me under their wing, but I will never forget that Zac was the first," added Jones of Brown, who is a co-producer on her song, So Many Skies, featuring Old Dominion's Matthew Ramsey.

"I vividly remember sitting in with Zac Brown Band for the first time as a wide-eyed, nerve-wracked opening act on June 22, 2017 (yes, I remember the date!). If you had told me five years ago that I would be a part of the band, I would have never believed you," Jones recalled. 

"I am extremely proud to share the stage with such a diverse and gifted group of musicians, each of whom brings craftsmanship and unique strengths to the band. Finding my place, musically, in the band and soaking up as much knowledge as possible is my next mission. I will give my whole heart and soul to contributing to the music that we all know and love, and the music that is yet to be made."

Zac Brown Band recently released their 21-track The Comeback Deluxe album, expanding on the project they released last year with star-studded collaborations on previously released fan-favourite songs. Some artists to appear on the extended album include Jimmy Buffett (Same Boat), Cody Johnson (Wild Palomino) and Blake Shelton (Out In The Middle), among others.

Jones released her debut album, Bare Feet in 2018 and a six-track EP titled Chasin' Me the following year. She has also toured with the likes of Jimmy Buffett, The Eagles, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Kip Moore, Vince Gill, and Kenny Chesney, to name a few.

Jones, as well as Zac Brown Band, are on the line-up for CMC Rocks QLD in 2023.
