Wynonna Judd, from the mother-daughter duo The Judds, has shared her first new music since the death of her mother, Naomi Judd. Teaming up with indie folk artist Waxahatchee, the pair co-wrote Other Side. The song features Wynonna’s husband and fellow musician Cactus Moser.
Wynonna shared, "In the midst of everything that has happened, I said that I would continue to sing. So, here I am. I met Katie Crutchfield [Waxahatchee] last year and we connected immediately. We recorded Other Side in the studio here on the farm and it was one of my favourite recording experiences ever. I’m thankful for the opportunity to sing with the next generation of greatness."

Crutchfield added, "Working with Wynonna and Cactus on this song was one of the more creatively stimulating and exciting experiences I’ve had in my songwriting career. Wynonna is an icon and a fountain of wisdom. Sharing space with her to create something new was really nothing but a joy and an honour. Her spirit inspires me daily and her continued encouragement has meant the world. Together, with Cactus, we made an amazing team and I’m so excited to share this song."
Other Side comes just over a week after the public memorial service Naomi Judd: A River of Time Celebration. During the event, Wynonna announced her intentions to keep singing, and to move forward with the Judds' previously announced 2022 tour dates.
Wynonna said, “Tonight is a celebration, and, at the same time, I can't put into words how devastated I am. I miss her so much. After a lot of thought, I'm going to have to honour her and do this tour. I'm just going to have to. Tonight, as we close, the show must go on, as hard as it may be. And we will show up together and you will carry me.”
