The Wolfe Brothers are part of the line up for this year’s Festival of Voices, performing as part of the Tasmanian Songbook in Devonport, Launceston, and Hobart.

The Tasmanian Songbook project celebrates the legacy of Tasmanian songs and the contemporary songwriters who continue to shape our history and music culture. The program is co-curated with the local music community and performed by some of Tasmania’s finest musicians and storytellers.

The concert will feature live performances, each song will be introduced to explain the background and why it made it into the ever-evolving Songbook.

Tom Wolfe shared on social media, “This is a show that celebrates songs, stories, storytellers, musicians, and artists all relevant to Tasmania. It’s a truly one-of-a-kind thing and we’re very proud to be a part of it. You don’t want to miss this one. We can’t wait to see you there.”

According to the official website, “the Tasmanian Songbook weaves together themes exploring our identity and the country that surrounds us. Highlighting our first storytellers and Aboriginal Tasmanian language and songs, songs of protest and the environment, convicts and legendary tall tales, our island home as haven and the almost-made it’s – bands and songwriters that did not quite make the history books but left an imprint on Tasmania’s song psyche.”

The Wolfe Brothers join Claire Ann Taylor, Glenn Richards, Jed Appleton, Jean Stafford, Pete Cornelius, Greely, and others. Tickets range between $49-$69. Shows take place on Wednesday July 6 (Devonport), Thursday June 7 (Launceston), and Friday June 8 (Hobart).
