More Willie Nelson More Willie Nelson

The life and career of country-music star and activist, Willie Nelson will be celebrated in a new Little Golden Book – the perfect introduction to nonfiction for preschoolers.

Written by Geof Smith with illustrations by Jeffrey Ebbeler, LGB Willie Nelson: A Little Golden Book Biography is set for release on April 4, 2023 and is recommended for ages 2-5.

According to the publishers, “Willie Nelson, singer-songwriter of such hits as On the Road Again and You Were Always on My Mind, is the subject of this terrific Little Golden Book biography. Children–as well as adult fans–will be inspired by Willie’s activism and work with Farm Aid and how he always stayed true to himself by dressing how he liked and creating the music he wanted to share!”

Little Golden Book biographies have also celebrated other inspiring people, like Dolly Parton, Lucille Ball, Betty White, Martin Luther King Jr., Queen Elizabeth II, Barack Obama and more.

With an impressive career spanning over 60 years, Nelson released his 98th album, A Beautiful Time, on his 89th birthday in April this year. Produced by Buddy Cannon, the 14-track album includes original songs by Nelson, as well as covers of the Beatles (With a Little Help from My Friends) and Leonard Cohen (Tower of Song)

The first single I’ll Love You Till The Day I Die was co-written by Chris Stapleton.

In other news, Nelson’s Tennessee home, the inspiration for Shotgun Willie, is on the market for $2.5 million. The property, located 30 minutes outside of Nashville, spans 155 acres of countryside and features a three-bedroom log cabin built by the country music legend himself.
