More Keith Urban More Keith Urban

After 19 years of marriage, Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have officially separated. The news broke publicly via TMZ and was soon confirmed by People. Reports indicate the couple had been living apart for months, although neither has made a public statement confirming all the details.

Kidman filed for divorce on September 30, 2025, citing “irreconcilable differences” in the legal documents. In court filings, a parenting plan was also included where Kidman is designated the primary residential parent, with the children spending 306 days a year with her and 59 days with Urban, or every other weekend.

The agreement also stipulates that neither parent will speak negatively about the other in front of their daughters and that there will be no ongoing child support payments to be made to either parent. The parenting plan was reportedly signed by Urban on August 29 and Kidman a week later on September 6, which suggest that preparations for the split were already well underway.

People have said sources close to Kidman have said that she tried to preserve the marriage and “she didn’t want this”. Meanwhile, Urban has largely stayed on the road, continuing his touring schedule during this turbulent time, most likely serving as a distraction.

The same article states friends and insiders hinted the split wasn’t totally unexpected. Those close to Urban reportedly “felt like the split was inevitable,” and the fact the couple had apparently been living separately for some time was not a secret among his inner circle.

There of course was the interview with Hayley & Max in the Morning on July 1st where Urban asked how he felt about Kidman’s more raunchy film scenes with younger men. As soon as the question was asked, the call was disconnected, his team insisted it was technical difficulties but it may have been a sign of what was to come.

Then there was also this awkward encounter with Jonesy & Amanda on their radio show where Urban can be seen to be quite uncomfortable when questioned about his and Kidman’s love story.

A bit of a stretch, but some media outlets and fans have noted there was a lyric change in a recent performance of Urbans’s hit song The Fighter, featuring Carrie Underwood, just before the separation became public.

Updates to come as we await a formal and direct statement from Urban and Kidman.

And if you ask us… we’re still not okay.
