It adds, “Chris [West] is an Aussie with a deep love of music who has dedicated his life to supporting your friends and ours in the indieverse and sharing their songs and stories with you. Each week you’ll get to know the artists he calls family, meet his new favourites and bask in the glow of beautiful music. It’s the warm hug of a radio show you didn’t know you needed, once described by a listener as a love letter to every artist he plays.”
The Tripwire made its debut on May 17. It's available worldwide on Simple Radio app and Alexa.
Prelude took home the award for ‘Instrumental of the Year’ at the 2021 Golden Guitar Awards. It was the second single off their third studio album, You Reap What You Sow, which also features their 2022 Golden Guitar ‘Bluegrass Recording of the Year’ winning track Black Crow.
The Weeping Willows are comprised of partners in life, love, and song, Laura Coates and Andrew Wrigglesworth. A couple of old souls, steeped in bluegrass tradition and draped in Gothic Americana imagery, they regale their audiences with stories of sunshine and romance, the lost and the lonely, the heartsick and the harried, God and The Devil, murder, and decay.
The Weeping Willows released their celebrated debut album, Till The North Wind Blows in 2012. They followed it up with the critically acclaimed Before Darkness Comes A-Callin’ (2016), Southern Gothic EP (2021) and 2022’s You Reap What You Sow.
2017-2021 saw The Weeping Willows nominated for 10 x CMAA ‘Golden Guitar’ awards, 4 x Country Music Channel (CMC) awards, 2 x Australian Folk Music Awards (AFMAs), ‘Live Act of the Year’ (Country) in the National Live Music Awards (NLMAs), performing at AmericanaFest (USA), Folk Alliance International (USA), Maverick Festival (UK), Port Fairy Folk Festival, Queenscliff Music Festival, Out On The Weekend and the Australian Americana Music Honours.
