Nashville proved to be the place where dreams come true on Tuesday night (23 June), when Taylor Swift joined Lainey Wilson on stage for a surprise duet of one of her most beloved songs.

The Tight Ends & Friends concert took place this week, hosted by Tight End University at The Pinnacle. Several current and former NFL players were also in attendance during the evening, including Travis Kelce—Swift’s fiancé—as well as George Kittle and Greg Olsen.

Country Now reports that the event didn’t just feature Wilson and Swift; it also hosted performances by country stars including Dan + Shay, Mitchell Tenpenny, Jon Pardi, Chase Rice, Nate Smith, and more.

However, one of the most memorable moments—one that will surely go viral in the coming days—happened when Lainey Wilson took to the stage.

Wilson introduced her friend, Taylor Swift, by telling the story of the first time she saw the Eras Tour superstar on stage at age 16, at CMA Fest. Even then, Wilson recalled, she knew Swift was going places.

“She was 16, I was 14, and there was 30 people there. Four of the 30 was me, my momma, my daddy and my sister,” Wilson shared.

She continued, “I knew watching that day that it was something really, really special, and it has been so cool to see what she has done. She is just as kind as she is talented… Y’all welcome to the stage, my friend Taylor Swift.”

Swift then took to the stage—she was already in the building to support Kelce—and said she and Wilson would accept a “very special request” by George Kittle. Looking back to the band, Swift asked, “Do you wanna do ‘Love Story?’”

Performing her 2008 country-pop smash hit, Swift and Wilson traded verses and shared harmonies, and once the former reached the line, “He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring,” Swift pointed her arm towards the audience, showing off her impressive engagement ring.

You can see the performance below.

The surprise duet follows Swift’s return to her country roots with the recent release of her single, I Knew It I Knew You, from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack. After two weeks on the Countrytown Hot 50, the track has hit #2 on the Chart.

Last month, congratulations were in order for Lainey Wilson, who married her partner, former NFL player Devlin “Duck” Hodges.

Several country music stars were in attendance, including Miranda Lambert and Lauren Alaina, as well as Jelly RollWynonna Judd, Luke Bryan, Ella Langley, and more.
