Tyla Rodrigues ProfileTyla Rodrigues has signed a global publishing deal with Sony Music Nashville, continuing her upward trajectory and expanding her international reach.
The move follows a year of milestone moments for the rising Australian country singer. In May, she signed with Vincent Torrez Management.
Rodrigues has become one of the fastest-rising names in Australian country music over the past year, achieving strong streaming success and appearing at Tamworth Country Music Festival, CMC Rocks and Howlin’ Country at home, plus C2C, CMA Fest, and more overseas. Her momentum has been impossible to ignore.
Earlier this year, Rodrigues’ breakout track Can’t Keep Doing This reached #9 on the Australian National Airplay chart within three weeks and has since surpassed one million streams. She’s also continued building a global streaming audience after teaming up with Braxton Keith for an Amazon Music Original version of Do I Ever Cross Your Mind.
With her debut album expected next year, signing with Sony Music Nashville will further boost Rodrigues’ name.
On Instagram, Rodrigues reflected on her musical journey and admitted that she never thought that, four years after releasing her debut single, she’d be where she is today. The post reads:
Four years ago, I wrote (and released) my first ever song and I could have NEVER imagined where that little song would take me 🥲
I love writing songs and I love making music but I wouldn’t be where I am today without the team of people who cheer for me in rooms I’m not in and work hard behind the scenes to help fulfill the dream that I’m chasing. 💙
I count my lucky stars for the crew in my corner and am beyond excited to have @sonymusicpubnashville part of that!!! ✨
Thankyou for believing in me and my songs, time to get to WORK✍🏼🥰
“I’m incredibly excited to be joining the Sony Music Publishing family and to be surrounded by such an incredible community,” Rodrigues commented in a statement, per MusicRow.
She added, “There are so many artists and writers at Sony whose work I’ve admired for years, and to now be a part of that is really special. I’m so grateful for the team believing in me and my songwriting, and I can’t wait to see where this next chapter takes me.”
Aubrey Landon, Senior Director, Creative A&R, Sony Music Publishing Nashville, said, “The first time I heard Tyla sing, it stopped me in my tracks. I knew right away that she was special and was eager to be a part of her songwriting journey. She is pure country gold, and I’m so excited to work alongside her in this next chapter!”
