Following its ARIA Award win for ‘Best Country Album’ in November, Tamworth Regional Council and the Country Music Association of Australia (CMAA) has announced Troy Cassar-Daley’s The World Today as the 2022 Golden Guitar Award winner for the ‘Top Selling Album Of The Year’.

As his 13th studio album, The World Today debuted at number three on the ARIA’s Top Album Chart and features co-writes with Paul Kelly, Ian Moss and Don Walker.

Chairman of the CMAA, Dan Biddle, said, “I want to congratulate Troy on this fantastic achievement, as well as all the other artists in the ‘Top Selling Album of the Year’ category. In what has been another unexpected and tough year for the live music industry, it is great to see fans continue to support their favourite artists through buying and streaming their music.”

Cassar-Daley wrote on his facebook page, “Winning top selling album for this album means the world to me. It means that people went out and bought it because it affected them in some way. Thank you! The World Today is an extremely personal album I’m just very happy I had a chance to share it with everyone.”
