Troy Cassar-Daley has announced his first ever live/acoustic album. Titled 50 Songs, 50 Towns, the album is exactly that: 50 live acoustic songs, recorded across 50 Australian towns in 2019.

The album will be delivered both digitally and as a 3CD digipack which is set for release August 12. The digital version will be delivered in five installments of 10 tracks between June and August.

In 2021, Cassar-Daley sat down with the plan to select 20 songs from his recent Greatest Hits 2019 Acoustic Tour. He had recorded every sound check, VIP event and show on the run, from the lawn at Jabiru, Northern Territory to the beautiful Paragon Theatre in Queenstown, Tasmania.

For Cassar-Daley, every set was different from the night before and the complete joy and pride as a father to have his daughter (and rising artist) Jem Cassar-Daley on tour duetting with him made the decision process a very hard one, landing him at 50 songs and 50 towns to share. The album also includes a stirring rendition of the Cold Chisel classic Bow River.

On the album, Cassar-Daley shares, “I hope you folks play these songs when you experience our country because so many of them were written from a deep love I have for this land. With these songs I try to build one fire which is all inclusive for every walk of life and skin colour to sit down, get warm, tell a story of their connections to country and to feel belonging, that is what I’ve always been about.”

He adds, “In listening, it reminded me of the freedom I had to play each night before Covid struck… every set was different from the night before, the complete joy and pride as a father to have my daughter Jem on tour with me, I was more like a tour guide than her Dad… and the selection process of what songs to choose became pretty tough… landing us at 50 songs and 50 towns to share!”

50 Songs, 50 Towns follows on from the incredibly successful, ARIA Award winning album The World Today. It also follows Cassar-Daley’s history-making 2022 Tamworth campaign that saw him eclipse the late Slim Dusty to become the most awarded artist ever at the Golden Guitars.

With a career spanning over three decades, Cassar-Daley has released a total of eleven studio albums, achieved a staggering 32 number one chart singles, and been awarded numerous accolades including 40 Golden Guitars, 5 ARIA Awards, 3 APRA Song of the Year Awards, plus 2 NIMAs (National Indigenous Music Awards). Furthermore, in 2017, Cassar-Daley was honoured as the 50th inductee into the prestigious Australasian Roll Of Renown.
