Tim McGraw will feature in a new Netflix drama series centred on a “megastar champion” of competitive bull riding.
The currently unnamed series has been created by showrunner and executive producer Brandon Camp (Love & Gelato, Benji) and finds McGraw’s character facing a “life-and-death crossroads” (per the description on Netflix) when a young competitor enters the fray and challenges McGraw’s character personally and professionally.
Along with Camp, the series will be executive produced by McGraw, Taylor Elmore, Tim Staples, Brian Kaplan, and Joel Bergvall for Down Home (an entertainment company founded by McGraw) and David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Matt Thunell for Skydance Television.
While not much else is known about the series, McGraw has commented that the project is “like nothing I’ve ever done before” and added, “So excited for you to see what we’ve been working on!! Coming soon on @netflix.”
McGraw has sold over 90 million records and dominated the charts in the US, as well as winning prestigious awards, including three Grammy Awards, 21 Academy of Country Music Awards, and 14 Country Music Association Awards.
As an actor, McGraw is known for his roles in The Shack, The Blind Side, and Friday Night Lights. He recently appeared on TV for the Yellowstone prequel series 1883 alongside Sam Elliott and his wife, fellow musician Faith Hill.

Last year, McGraw released a new album, Standing Room Only.
Discussing the album in a statement, he said, “As an artist, I always want to dig deeper and get better every time I make a new record – it’s a big part of what drives me, and I really believe this is one of the best projects we’ve made. I’ve been working on this album since 2020, and this collection of songs are some of the most emotional, thought-provoking, and life-affirming music I’ve ever recorded.”
Standing Room Only marked McGraw’s first new record since 2020’s Here On Earth, which hit #10 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
