We all know about The Wiggles’ Big Red Car, but today, they’ve launched their new single, Big Red Ute.
A country rock banger, this is The Wiggles like you haven’t heard before. The iconic children’s music and television group have embraced country music on their new single. In celebration of their musical turn, The Wiggles will perform at the 2025 Tamworth Country Music Festival for the first time.
Their set will take place in the AELEC (Australian Equine and Livestock Events Centre) on Tuesday, 21 January 2025.
Anthony Wiggle said about the song and their upcoming Tamworth appearance, “Big Red Ute is a playful nod to our original Big Red Car, but with a country rock twist perfect for kids and parents alike.
“There’s something truly special about taking everyday things like electric windows, cup holders, and the sound of the engine and turning them into exciting adventures for children. Young minds have a beautiful way of being fascinated by the simplest things. A child might hear the ‘vroom’ of an engine or see a window rolling up, and suddenly, it’s magic.”
He continued, “Big Red Ute is all about celebrating those little wonders kids notice – things we adults sometimes take for granted. And the best part? It’s a song families can sing and dance to together, and we can’t wait to perform it at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, 21st Jan 2025.”

Lachy Wiggle said the band are “so excited” to introduce Big Red Ute at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, adding that the song is about “encouraging that sense of wonder, giving little ones a musical experience where they can clap along, stomp their feet, and go ‘vroom vroom’ all the way! And the best part is parents will be tapping their toes right alongside them. We can’t wait to see everyone at Tamworth joining in on the fun!”
Barry Harley, the Manager of the Toyota Tamworth Country Music Festival, said about The Wiggles’ debut: “There’s no better place to showcase their latest country hits than in Australia’s Country Music Capital, and we can't wait to see The Wiggles pose in front of the Golden Guitar—two icons coming together this January!”
Max Jackson, an official Ambassador for the Tamworth Country Music Festival, concluded: “I am so incredibly excited to hear The Wiggles are coming to Tamworth in 2025. This is an extra special addition to the festival, particularly for family audiences who already flock to Tamworth! I am ready to bootscoot with The Wiggles and all their friends!”
Big Red Ute follows the release of The Wiggles EDM-inspired album (released under the moniker of The Wiggles Sound System), Rave Of Innocence. The Wiggles stormed to the top of the ARIA Australian Dance Albums Chart with the album, overtaking Sia and Rüfüs Du Sol.
