You will be seeing country music superstar Tenille Townes in a film soon: she will star alongside Holland Roden and Tyler Hynes in the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film Time For Him To Come Home For Christmas. The movie will air on the US Hallmark Network this weekend - Saturday, 26 November, at 9 pm CT - that's 2 pm AEDT.
The Countrytown Artist Of The Week will make her acting debut in the film, the fifth instalment in a series from executive producer and country icon Blake Shelton. The movie is based on the book Time For Me To Come Home by Dorothy Shackleford and Travis Thrasher and Shelton's song of the same name, which Townes sings during the film.
"Growing up in my house at Christmas time, we always had the Hallmark channel on. It always set the scene for the holiday season, and this is truly such a cool full circle," Townes revealed.
"It was an honour to be a part of this, and it was such a fun experience getting to say a few lines and put on a concert in a movie for the first time! The entire crew and cast were lovely to work with, and I loved learning how it all comes together. Can't wait to celebrate the holidays by being a part of this movie this year!"
Townes recently won big at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards (CCMAs) in Calgary, taking home five trophies. Townes, who also shared co-hosting duties with artist Blanco Brown, led with seven nominations. She won ‘Songwriter of the Year’, ‘Female Artist of the Year’, ‘Single of the Year’ for Girl Who Didn't Care, ‘Entertainer of the Year’ and ‘Album of the Year’ for Masquerades.
Earlier this year, we celebrated her latest EP, Masquerades, by crowning Townes our Artist Of The Week. Townes said about the release, "Masquerades is me setting aside the smiling face I hide behind sometimes and letting the world see more of who I am. In this process, I realised that I am two different people, and I struggle between those two often."

She added, "I am the introverted songwriter and the fiery performer, and both are true to who I am. I look forward to showing more of these sides in my music and live performances. Music has always been a bridge for me between both of these sides, and I hope this music can help others who can relate."
