Shannon Noll, Imogen Clark and more to perform at Hawkesbury Flood Relief Concert

Shannon Noll and Imogen Clark will join Aussie rock royalty for the Hawkesbury Flood Relief Concert on June 6 at Governor Phillip Park in Windsor NSW, a town north-west of Sydney.

Noll and Clark will perform alongside Dragon, Thirsty Merc, Eurogliders, Mark Gable, Jason Singh from Taxiride, and Australian Idol winner Kate DeAraugo, with more to be announced, and hosted by Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson and 2GB’s Rob ‘The Duck’ Smith.

Hawkesbury City Council and Hawkesbury LAC support the Hawkesbury Flood Relief Concert with all the profits from ticket sales, sponsorship and donations given to Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) to allocate to those who have been impacted by the floods.

The focus is on making this concert a success to ensure Hawkesbury residents benefit as much as possible, with transparency in distributing the funds a high priority. Rotary Australia World Community Service (RAWCS) is on board, and CEO Andrew Woodward is committed to transparent allocation of the funds to ensure they go to where they are needed most, and this event does not suffer from the issues some bushfire fundraising events encountered.

Woodward, “The money raised from the Appeal will go directly and quickly to support those impacted, providing essential items and financial support where Disaster relief and Insurance claims won’t stretch.”

Organisers Dave Wilkins and Jarryd Faint, of Dinner By The River, are ensuring full transparency and will be paying the artists, crew, and suppliers, as the entertainment and event industry has been crippled by COVID-19 shutdowns. In this way, the event will also breathe life into these industries.

Artists will perform beside the beautiful Hawkesbury River that caused so much destruction only months earlier, where thousands of people across NSW were evacuated as the state experienced a now one-in-50-year flood event which completely submerged parts of Windsor. The NSW State Emergency Service has ranked the Hawkesbury-Nepean valley one of the highest flood dangers in Australia, having five major tributaries pouring water into the area during heavy rains, and natural chokepoints impeding the flow of water to the sea.

Dinner By The River hosted its first event in late 2019 – a sell out – where Dragon also performed.
